Any Better ... Part Deux

Ok, I remembered my flash drive today ... so here's an updated design.

I think it's the little details that really do it for me here.

Let me know what you think.

thanks.

Is there some sort of blogger design for dummies? I hate my layout but only know how to look for premade templates online and then paste into my own.

I think there is at least one book titled, "HTML for Dummies".

That sentence is offered in the spirit of helpfulness and not sarcasm.

There are any number of online guides for making new templates for your blog.

There are a couple different things you'll need though and it's not as easy as you would hope.

If you don't have any experience with HTML or CSS (or aren't a computer programmer) I can assure you that all of these guides will be nothing but frustrating.

There are programs that let you do some WYSIWYG design (Dreamweaver, Frontpage, etc.) to create web pages, but you then have to modify that HTML you created to conform to the Blogger template setup.

I'd say that your best bet is to find a beginners guide to HTML/CSS on the internet and a template you'd like to try modifying. Then you can try modifying certain areas to see how it affects the design.

Keep in mind that different web browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari on Mac, all render web pages slightly differently so what you see on one may not look the same on another.

In all it's a pretty technical area and one that will take you a fair amount of time to feel like you know what you are doing.

That sounds like a lot of work. I think I will just stick with my tragically boring template.

it's for the best Rachael. It's not worth the tears.

I have some knowledge of html, and I gave up on trying to change the blogger templates after about an hour.

also, hosts, good design.
