The [Ninja Turtles] henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady have hijacked the musical genres for us just like the Lone Ranger hijacked the William Tell Overture for our parents.

Another Dick Story

I'd almost completely forgot that this movie was coming out but a post on CHUD reminded me about it. Although there have been a number of hilariously bad adapted Philip K. Dick stories (Total Recall, Paycheck, Impostor) there has been at least one good (if not slightly overrated) one.

Plus the newest film, A Scanner Darkly, is directed by Richard Linklater and is usingtechnology much like was used in Waking Life (and those lame commercials for some investment firm).

Anyway, you should give the trailer a look here. Robert Downey Jr. looks like he's giving a good performance as usual. Now I just need to find Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang somewhere.

dEn, how could you diss Paulverhoven? He is a freaking godmachine of film! Paulverhoven doesn't care about whether people like his movies, he just makes them the way he thinks they should be made, violent or full of boobies, whatever!

Come on, Robocop and Total Recall were awesome movies. Basic Instinct was odd and the fact that there is a sequel being made is even stranger and Showgirls had, well, um, showgirls in it.

If you put all four of these movies together in a blender, you Starship Troopers!

I'm not going to argue with the awesomeness of some of the verhoven movies (I think Hollow Man speaks for itself).

I think that normally these movies are not what you would really classify as great movies.

For some reason though, I look at A Scanner Darkly and I genuinely hope it will be something quite interesting.

Me too. I hope but after Thumbsucker and Constantine, I don't think Key-On-New should be allowed to work anymore. ever.

Hollow man was a little boring, but for the whole 'who's gonna know?' thing. I just think they went too overboard at the end. I would have preferred to see KBacon end up in a psych ward or something.

We do not question Snakes on a Plane.

Snakes on a Plane plays by its own rules.

When Snakes on a Plane is near release, you will know. Because there will be a movie called Snakes on a Plane about mother f**kin' snakes on a mother f**kin' plane.

I personally liked the unicorn, the sparkles and barber pole. I say if you three nerds want to nancy the place up, you totally should. Splash some my little pony and diva-it-out! MDH is just mad because he doesn't have the brass to do it as his place.

Weren't all the ewoks fairly well rounded? I guess Jedis were good to eat after all.

Mmmmm, pass me some of that jedi sauce.

Somebody needs to offer Keanu a role in which he gets dumped in a burlap sack, beaten with tire irons, an thrown in a cage with whoever picked out the ass-licking colors for this blog. And like, leave him there.

i like keanu reeves. he's too cool for "roles" and "acting" so he just does the same thing in different movies.

i wish i had a job that sweet.

Well, I do the same thing in most jobs I get -- I am just not compensated the way he is.

Apparently it's a pretty lucrative career ... I mean, look at Paul Walker, he doesn't act either and look at who he gets to stand next to while they act.
